Benjamin spent six years in Labrador City working in the mining industry. He began his career in industrial automation before transitioning into electrical engineering, contributing to projects ranging from equipment upgrades to larger capital initiatives.
Working directly with operations, maintenance, contractors, commissioning teams, and consulting engineers exposed the same recurring problem: engineering information was constantly scattered across drawings, spreadsheets, PDFs, standards, emails, and disconnected software.
After relocating to Montréal to continue his career as an electrical engineering consultant, those same frustrations followed into consulting projects. SLK Electrical was created to eliminate those inefficiencies by bringing engineering workflows into one connected platform designed by engineers, for engineers.
Mining Industry

Industrial Controls
Started in automation, controls, PLCs and commissioning.
Industrial Power
Expanded into electrical engineering for mining projects of every size.
Montréal
Consulting exposed the same disconnected engineering workflows.
The Solution
One connected platform built around how engineers actually work.
“I didn't build SLK Electrical because I wanted another engineering application. I built it because I was tired of engineers wasting time fighting software instead of solving engineering problems.
